Out of seven 4.5 users are using AutoCAD and 5 users are using Unigraphics. Autodesk created this AutoCAD software and Siemens created Unigraphics. Let’s talk about the intent use of these two software, AutoCAD is used in architectural, design, electrical and mechanical fields and Unigraphics are also in tented to use in all of these fields except in architectural. Construction, education, automotive and engineering industries uses AutoCAD ads well as Unigraphics but aerospace, aircraft, airline, computer, defence, electronics, energy, manufacturing, software, technology, and transportation only uses Unigraphics for his better performance. The number of writeable file types in AutoCAD is 8 and Unigraphics have 18. And the number of readable files in AutoCAD is 8 and Unigraphics have 15. Unigraphics supports five languages as compare to AutoCAD which support only two languages.
Both the software are similar features like both software have 2D drawing, 3D modelling, parametric modelling and photorealistic rendering as there important feature. But there productivity feature is different, productivity feature of AutoCAD are copy details, archive and share, command line and virtual parts library, but unigraphics features are design-model consistency and manage user roles and permissions. AutoCAD supports 2D to 3D CAD conversion, 3D printing and 3D viewing tools and unigraphics supports only 3D printing and 3D viewing tools. Now lets talk about the advanced surfacing features, AutoCAD includes copy surface, move/copy face, click and drag geometry, curvature analysis, draft analysis, extend, extrude, loft, revolve, trim swept and zebra stripes analysis and unigraphics includes create mid surfaces, freeform radiation surface, mendacious analysis, curvature analysis, draft, extend, extrude, loft, revolve, trim, thickness analysis and undercut analysis, unigraphics having a lead in surfacing features. AutoCAD does not have any sheet metal design feature but unigraphics have many features of sheet metal
like bend allowance/deduction, bend lines, bend table, forming tools, punch tables and weld table. AutoCAD only have training feature in that but unigraphics have training feature as well as training programs.
